Russia receives the toughest package of US and UK sanctions in its history targeting oil and gas revenues

The Biden administration imposed its broadest package of sanctions yet targeting Russian oil and gas revenues on Friday, according to a Treasury Department release, in an effort to give Ukraine and President-elect Donald Trump’s incoming team leverage to reach a peace deal in a war that is nearing its third year.
